Cannon Falls Junior Colton Loeschke (left) and Senior Cam Dicke attempt to block the shot of Senior Lado Lowala during their game on March 13.

The Cannon Falls boys basketball team ended the regular season on a five game losing streak, falling to Rochester Lourdes on Saturday, 61-49.

The Bombers struggled to keep pace with the Eagles, falling 25-16 with 6 minutes left in the first half. The Eagles pushed their lead to nine points after making a three-point shot on three straight possessions.

The Bombers would struggle to make up the ground before the end of the first half, going down 35-20.

A reinvigorated Bombers squad came out of the second half looking to score narrowing the Eagles lead to just seven points with 8:23 left in the game.

Part of the comeback was in large part the scoring efforts of Senior Marcus Banks and Junior Noah Blanchard.

Banks led the team in scoring with 17 points and Blanchard made four three-point shots in the game.

While the Bombers were scoring more efficiently, they couldn't stop an Eagles offense that shot 54.3% from the field and made six three-point shots.

The Bombers will play on the road against Chatfield on March 16 for the opening round of Section 1AA playoffs.
