Dear men and women of this wonderful city of Red Wing. I want to thank your children for providing my girlfriend and me the most joyful entertainment that we could ask for on a beautiful sunny Easter weekend.
Pat and I ride motor scooters around town frequently. When we got to Colvill Park at 3 p.m. I saw nothing but trucks, cars and kids with great smiles on their faces. I was overjoyed and took a few good natured hits like, “Hey, pop a wheelie” and one good natured young lady yelled out “Do a flip.” I almost tried while laughing.
I got to the driveway portion of the park and saw two of our wonderful Red Wing police officers relaxed and talking calmly. I approached them receiving the fist bump and asked them how things were going. Both officers said it very well the kids are enjoying themselves. These are the kids that our police department love and care for.
I heard that there was a City Council that was attempting to disrupt, stop or require payment for the usage of our park. Typical of our City Council who should be speaking for us but would rather speak to us and against us hopefully that will not last long, as we all found a great success in what Americans can do and enjoy when they want to. Hopefully the attempted power grab by our city council will be gone soon.
Again thank you kids of Red Wing and thank you police officers of Red Wing. We appreciate all of you.
