Letter to the Editor RTSA

I am a mother of a special needs son who uses a wheelchair for mobility. Our family enjoys getting outside and utilizing the city parks.

When the plans for parking at Memorial Park were discussed City Council President Becky Norton reached out to a few of us parents with special needs children to ask for our opinions about the ease of parking at the top of Memorial Park. She listened to our concerns and desire to have better accessible parking that would allow more space for an accessible wheelchair van to ramp out.

I appreciate Becky asking for our opinions on improving the accessible parking at Memorial Park. Better accessible parking will allow our family and other wheelchair users the ability to access and enjoy the park more.
