Robert Adams

Robert Charles Adams, 71, of Red Wing, died Thursday, April 1, 2021 at his home. He was born January 17, 1950 in Red Wing to Maynard and Elaine (Swanson) Adams. He grew up in Red Wing and graduated from Red Wing Central High School, class of 1968. He then went to graduate from Winona State. On July 13, 1974 he married Katherine Gunter, who he met in high school, at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Red Wing. They moved to Guam a month after their wedding where they both worked as teachers. In 1976, they moved to Montana where Bob taught middle school social studies and science. In 1996, they returned to Red Wing to be closer to family. After teaching for more than 25 years, Bob retired and went on to work at Braschlers Bakery. He enjoyed listening to sports on the radio, especially when he could catch an exciting Twins game. Most of all he loved being with his grandchildren, Mattie and Henry.

He is survived by his daughters, Cara Adams and Christine (Karl) Bakke, both of Red Wing; grandchildren, Mattie and Henry Bakke; one brother, Randy (Stacey) of Red Wing; one sister, Jolene (John Kellogg) Borland of St. Paul; as well as nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his wife, Katherine; and his parents.
